As the Greater Boston real estate market as a whole seeks to shake off the effects of the recent changes in the lending industry and rebound from another slow year in 2007, certain submarkets, including Needham, continue to exhibit signs of growth and prosperity. Building off the momentum of a successful project at 14 Ingleside Road in Needham, our sister company, Hawthorn Builders, has begun a new project at 57 Stockdale Road in Needham.
Stockdale Road is located near the Wellesley line in the northwest section of Needham off of Great Plain Avenue. The property, unlike the Ingleside property, is situated on a conforming, 10,019 square foot lot, which allows for a more creative and flexible design - not to mention a larger house. The current plan calls for a living area of just under 3,600 square feet that does not include a two car attached garage and a full basement.

The first floor (click for a link to the floor plan) features two front entrances - a main entrance into the foyer and a side entrance that leads into a mudroom and on into the family room/kitchen area. The layout focuses on the kitchen which has direct access to the dining room as well as the family room and the half bath.
The kitchen is designed to maximize cabinet and countertop space and also features an island sink, a large breakfast nook and a bar area. Granite countertops, custom cabinets and high end, stainless appliances will finish the kitchen. The family room contains a fireplace and access to the patio via a 6 foot French door. Off the family room is a private study, which can be used as a home office, a guest room, exercise room...etc.
The first floor will be finished with hardwood flooring, recessed lighting and a custom trim package.
The second floor is highlighted by a large master suite with a spacious, walk-in closet and bath. The bathroom will feature a Jacuzzi tub, walk-in shower, dual sink and private toilet area. The bedroom will contain a vaulted ceiling, recessed lighting and media connections.
A second full bath will include dual sinks, a shower, bath tub and linen closet. Three more bedrooms, additional closet space and a large laundry room complete the second floor.
Construction is scheduled to begin in early December, and the house is targeted for completion and occupancy by Spring 2008.
